Over all the other websites I visited, this one was the most helpful. Take a look...

Tia that is quite a good website, it has some useful information on it. Thanks for putting it on this forum, it will help new cockatiel owners here :D:D

:) Thanks Again! :)
Websites put out by vet clinics are usually really good. I get email newsletters from my old vet clinic every month, there's a lot of good info. :D That site you posted looks great.
Nice site. I also like cockatielcottage.net.

yup- helped me alot of times. They have a forum which I signed up for but I rarely go there-this one is 10X better.
The one thing i noticed when i was looking around cockatiel cottage is that in pictures the cage the tiel is in looks really small, and nowhere does it give minimum cage requirements in actual measurements. People could see the pictures and take that to mean it's ok.
Great sites, Thank you! All this info is good for me. Do you have more?

I had to look around for while and I found this http://cockatielcottage.net/questions.html#question8. The ones mentioned are rather MINIMUM so.... I didn't see any pics though..maybe I'm just lost today.

http://cockatielcottage.net/photos.html That's where i saw it. Small cage, two dowel perches and a reference that it's Mama's cage. ;) I hadn't found the actual dimensions you found before, but obviously she doesn't follow her own advice, hehe.

http://cockatielcottage.net/photos2.html more there too.

It does look rather small. I'm hoping that was only the top half of the cage...atleast.
even if it was the top half it doesn't seem very wide, it looks like if she spread her wings they would hit the sides, I tend to think its not very tall either you can see the swing haning down close to the bottom and most people hang there swings from the top of the cage
It's not tall, you can see the top half in one pic and the bottom half in the other. There are two dowel perches in the cage, at the same level.
:eek:That's SMALL then...too bad...you'd think someone with all this info would have their act together themselves...

That's what's been a bit off putting for me about that website anyway. If they have the knowledge why aren't they putting it into action themselves.
I do have to admit while I was on there from the looks of the posts there are several people that are just content with having chronic egg layers and that's put me off. I signed up a long time ago but never post on there...or check it anymore. When I was looking at the link you gave me it mentioned that 3 years after having that tiel named Mama? she had it Dna tested and it was a male...Lutino or not how can you not tell in three years that you have a male...hmmmm...
