So, I just got the bird today, and he's been getting used to his cage for the last few hours. I went out for an hour or so, and when I got back, my dad told me that he had tried to give the bird a treat or something, and the he (the bird) had hissed at him and climbed to the top of the cage. I'm a bit worried that this'll have some negative effects on the bird for the future, stress-wise. Do I need to worry, or is this something that can be moved on from?

Hi there, your 'tiel should be just fine. They are very forgiving birds and don't hold grudges. He will take several weeks to fully settle into his new home environment, so I would hold off on trying to offer him treats by hand for now.

Check out this thread for some tips on how to start the bonding process with your 'tiel. Once he is more comfortable you can work on food bribery.
