ok here is the brooder me and a friend made up

towel on the table heating pad on the towel towel over top of heating pad
cage on top of towel heating pad set at 80 towels wraped around cage auto thermostat in cage must be one that reads temp and humidity humidity must be kept at 50 and above not lower as humidity ads
moisture to the chicks skin less humidity means heat dries the skin towels wraped around cage to keep heat in and humidity alow a small opening for air spray bottle to mist towel to keep the humidity up
you can also do the same setup with a fish tank


here is what i have for hand feeding
kaytee handfeeding formula
infant syringes most pharmacies will give them if you tell them what you need them for
thermonitor
measuring spoon sterilized
glass dish sterilized
paper towel to clean the chicks
i keep the kaytee formula in freezer till i need to mix some up
all other suplies i keep an a container just for them and nothing else

i just had a visit from a local breeder who heard what was hapening well she looked at the setup all the suplies said i have everything i really need she then looked at the chicks she was shoced she said in all her years she has never seen a parent do what she saw to a chick but she said keep the hunidity up and at a constant temp of 78-80
