I am very new and will be looking for any help i need.

I have a cockatiel a little over a year. He has had a white face the entire time I owned him but also developed spots or splotches on his head. He also has yellow edging on his wings, his feet, and his bum. Before I shell out cash for a dna test, is there a way to be sure he isn't a she? I do have another tiel, so I can do a pelvic check. The person I got him from said he was a cinnamon pied pearl.... I don't know enough about tiels. I'm more experienced with lovebirds.

If he's already a year old, it's really pretty simple. Does he attempt (at all) to whistle, sing or talk? If so, your bird is a male. I happen to have a cinnamon pearl whiteface female. She chirps and screams a little but that's about all most females do.

Yeah. Pretty sure he's a male. Kind of funny how I paid for a girl and got him. Don't regret it and the shop shut down anyway. Hes just started taking food from me recently.
Well......unless you just wanted a female, sounds like you may have gotten the better end of the deal anyway. Most people think they just have to have a bird that will talk, sing, and whistle there *** off.

About 90 percent of my birds are rehomed for being defective ie scissor beak or bully. Some of them have never been handled in their lives and are terrified of people. My first tiel steps up but smacks my hand and loudly hisses. I'll accept any suggested nicknames for them here btw. But is there a way to get my guys to get along? They spend a lot of time hanging out just to have fights. I am frankly confused.

As far as them getting along, give me a little background. Just how many birds do you have and do they share the same cage(s)? It's pretty normal for males to get cranky with others...especially if hormones or molting is involved. Many may fuss over females they like. My hat is really off to you for taking care of these birds that others cast aside. As mentioned, I have 13 cockatiels and 2 sun conures! We only have one sweet little female rescue that a breeder didn't want because she has a defective wing. ( It droops down to her side ) BUT......she can fly as good as any of the other 12 and run like **** across the floor ! LMAO!
