I’m in need of some help I have my moms cockatiel and he is 21 yesterday and today I noticed he is on the bottom of the cage I took him out and checked him over he seems fine tried to put him on his perch and he sort of fell to the floor of the cage any idea is it just because he’s old to be honest I’ve never taken him to the vet always clipped his wings and everything at home my whole life
Any comments would be appreciated
Thank you

I don't see what else you can do besides bringing him in for a vet exam. He seems to be weak or having balance problems. An older tiel should still be able to perch without falling although they can have arthritis or not be eating enough or be ill and need medication. Birds' tastes can change so that they prefer different food than they used to as they age. I realize that a vet visit would be stressful for both of you but you need an assessment of his condition by an avian vet who knows what they're looking at.
