Hi does my baby look normal size for a 12 day old? I rescued him from nest box when he was 4 hours old after the parents injured the first born. I just want to know that he is in track with his growth and not stunted. And yes his eyes does open wider then this photo here is is a little sleepy stil just woken up. He is very content and sweet I have had no problems with him since I pulled him from the nest box. What should he weigh at 12 days?

If he is for sure 12 days old, I would say this baby IS stunted as it should have more feathers than that by now. I have three babies myself that are about that age and I'm seeing a crest on all 3 about that size but more body feathers. The baby in your photo is still showing down feathers that should be gone by now.

Yes, you have to make sure it is completely empty before the next feed. If the crop doesn't empty completely, the chick can get sour crop. In order to avoid that, it is recommended to mix in three drops of apple cider vinegar only in the last feed of the day and only every other day. I've been doing that with my chick, and so far he has been doing very well.

Yes, it is 3 drops of apple cider vinegar once a day for the last feeding, but you only have to do it every other day. I never fed my chick when he was that young because he was still with his parents, but I can ask my breeder friend what times she suggests and let you know in a few moments. I only started feeding him when he was four weeks old.

How often were you feeding the chick when you pulled it at four days old?
1to 4 days was every 2 hours.
No I did not pull him at 4 days it was at 4 hours old. Yes I did then wait for him to absorb the yolk first for the 8 to 12 hours.
Then gave Cocunut water after every hour few drops it saved his life and when he started eating it was every 2 hours then day 5 to 7 days every 3 hours. Now it's every 4 hours.

Whoops, sorry! I meant to say 4 hours not 4 days. Okay, so she said to feed him every four hours so five times a day. That would mean that you feed him at: 7:00 am, 11:00 am, 3:00 pm, 7:00 pm, and then 11:00 pm. At the 11:00 pm, you would put the apple cider vinegar in. Here is a screenshot of how many times to feed the chick at what age:

Hi there, is there any side effects to this acv, I'm nervous my 3 drops might be to large do you use a medicine dropper or just normal syringe and just to he clear I mix it first with the hot water then mix it all with the food, do you use a teaspoon of food for this acv mix
