i walked into a shop the other day(as usual i had 2 tiels on me, with leads), and went to the counter to ask the girl about a stress ball thing they had in months ago... and she looked at me like i was totally freaking her out... then she said.. oh sorry, im scared of birds!
and i said oops sorry, and walked out...
it never occurred to me that people could be scarred of birds!
i guess i never really thought about it until then...

so yeah kudos to you for helping your mum with her fear!

I had the birds out when mums friend was over, and she cringed everytime one went near her. I ended up putting the birds in their cages. I find it silly to be scared of budgies or tiels. A macaw with a whopping big beak, maybe, but what can a tiel do! :p

my boyfriend has a friend whos deathly afraid of birds EVEN outside birds, she came over one day, and Billy our quaker was out, she wouldn't leave the kitchen doorway and he was in the living room on his tree perch, she could of sat on the couch and he wouldn't of bothered her well he flew towards her - he was going to the computer to sit on that perch and she took off running(she's not a small woman!!) down my hall then she realized she was stuck there was birds down there too , BUT my boyfriend got billy and put him up and we got a laugh out of it, even she laughed but YOu can tell she was scared to death, you would of thought she saw a ghost by the looks of her face

here's the kicker though --- SHE'S A COP  and scared to death of birds inlcuding the littlest of birds

I hear cop and think - Strong, Not scared of anything - I mean they've gotta be tough as bricks they're cops - then i hear about her and i seen it with my own eyes, I couldn't stop laughing - but I did wait until she left LOL

There is a girl at my work and she is really afraid of birds. She walked down one of the aisles and heard someone say hello. And she jumped when she seen that it was a fur real macaw. Also my Sister in law does not like Spike, she cringes around him.

This may sound wierd but, my grandma is scared of birds flying, she isn't scared of pigeons and birds flying outside, but I let Earl & Little Bill out when she was here, and she was outside the door looking through, and she was really scared, even though she was behind a door with glass windows
