Well my 'tiel is going to be round about 6 months old in a few days(the pet shop owner didn't really know his exact age but he was round about 3 months when we got him), and he's quite a lovable and cuddly bird, but now he's quite bity and moody do you think this behavior is due to the fact of molting season is around the corner? ..... I don't know too much about molting season and when it happens ,but do you think it could be because of that?

Yes, feather molting can be very uncomfortable for birds causing them to be moody and cranky. Just be patient and in a short time your bird will be back to his lovable cuddly self.
