When a cocatiel molts, does the crest come off to?

What is the time period between each molt?

How many of their feathers come out?

Do tiels get moody when they molt?

Usually it is 6 months between molts. Some molts can be heaier than others. They don't usually drop all their feathers at once. They will periodically replace a few here and there. I think that's so that they never leave themselves flightless as a result of a molt. I've never seen one lose all of it's crest feathers at once either although I have seen their crests get kind of sparce. Yes they can get moody when the molt because it can be uncomfortable and itchy. I usually mist them more when they are going thru a molt and that seems to help. Offer a shallow dish too you may find a bird that never liked a bath before will suddenly adore it.
