Yes, that is normal. He is going through his first molt, but I'm not quite sure when his flight feathers will grow in. Just give it time. 馃槉 As for why the feathers with the spots are falling out is because he is a male. Male pearl cockatiels will lose their pearls when they go through their first molt.

Yes, unfortunately, he will lose all his pearls. It varies with each pearl male, but some will keep maybe a few pearls or ghost pearls, while most will lose all their pearls. That's the only unfortunate thing about having a male pearl cockatiel if you really like the mutation.

Yeah, he is really handsome, and he will most likely look like a normal grey after his molt. What you are doing is great especially the bathing since the new feathers can be very uncomfortable coming in. If he is tame and allows you to give head rubs, then you could always rub his head since he can't reach that part of his body.

Yeah, no problem and poor guy! Molting can be a big pain sometimes for both the owner and the bird. I have a pied cockatiel who will be five months old this coming Saturday, and he has tons of pin feathers as well!
