With the pearl Cockatiels, once they lose their pearls, are they still called a 'pearl' or something else? :blink:

There still called a Pearl, the males just don't look like they are

Yes they do end up looking like more like a normal grey, they start there first moult at about 6 months and it usually takes a few moults for them to all go with some you can still see faint spots as they are older.

I guess I'll know soon whether Sam is Sam or Samantha...I'm pretty sure he hatched sometime in January.

Yes you will know very soon my Lee a white face pearl started moulting at about 5 1/2 months and I started to notice his pearls going he lost about half of them on his back in the first moult so if Sam was born in January his/her first moult should be happening soon

Mali's had her first moult already, well still going through it, but some 'tiels can lose their pearls on first moult while others can possibly lose them after a few, right? Cause Mali still has all her pearls (for now) so I'm still hoping that she's a SHE.

If Mali has had her first moult and lost none of her Pearls she would be a female, not all Pearls lose them all on the first moult but they will lose quite a few on the first moult
