Hi, been a long time since I've been here.

I had a case where my tiel, Terabit, is sort of a rescue bird. When I got him he was extremely cage bound and would eat nothing but seed. He also was not at all touch friendly.

He is now quite friendly tending to like to climb inside my shirt. He is out of his cage, which is normally open, quite often. While still on a seed diet he also now likes peas and carrots. Next time I'm at the store I intend to get some popcorn to try. Actually I was doing a search to be sure popcorn was OK and saw a thread from here and decided to log in again.

Basically I used brute force. ;) I kept taking him out of his cage and leaving it open other times. Eventually he started coming out on his own.

As far as the diet change you just need to try different things until you find stuff that is liked. Don't just try once. I gave peas for probably over a week before he finally picked one up.
