Hey guys,

After getting my two tiels for my birthday I was trying to figure out what name to give them and then i stumbled across your forum. I found two names that suited both my beautiful tiels...Rocky and Stella.

At first, Stella was very quiet and subdued while Rocky was very active and quite cheeky. But now that they have grown used to their environment and the people around them they both seem to be settled..

I am starting to think that maybe Stella is also a Rocky because she's as active and loud as Rocky is (and i read that its only the males that are loud). She likes picking fights with poor Rocky, while he likes to groom her.

Every afternoon I play some love songs for them and they seem to enjoy it because it looks like they're miming to it. But then my sister came along and played some rock music which, Stella doesn't like but, Rocky seems to love it because he actually attempts to headbang like my sister does.
When I have a chance, I will make a video clip and upload it so you can see for yourself.

The dark one is Rocky and the light one Stella

Love the names! Is Stella a Cinnamon? If they are mature (Rocky looks it) then Stella looks like a hen to me. Sometimes Cinnamon hens can have a pretty light face but there is still a dusting of the body color. Some hens are loud.

Rocky is a normal colored male, and it looks like Stella is a cinnamon colored female, it just depends on the bird, females can be loud too but males are generally loud, sometimes screamers!! But since you said that rocky grooms stella that tells me that she probally is a female, Well good luck and they shall adjust well, but do you want to breed otherwise I would seperate them!! I hope this is some help, Melissa

Cutting down on the light will help with hormones here is an article about hormonal tiels http://www.birdchannel.com/bird-beh...g/bird-small-bird-behavior/hormonal-cockatiel Tiels should get around 10-12 hours of light a day. Cutting down on light would help with breeding behaviour. Hope the article helps :)

They look cute together, I don't think you will have to seperate them unless they do start to breed, try the cutting down on light suggestion! :D But I don't think they will breed providing they have only just come into your home! :p
