My goofy bird Yoshi is a tweeting contradiction.

My 5m old pearl cockatiel Yoshi sings so much, he's always tweeting and chirping and is trying to mimic songs I have been teaching him. He has begun beak banging this past week as well and I have read that this is also a very male behaviour. This is a vid of him singing, nothing specific, and the beginnings of when he started beak banging. He now taps his beak on perches, toys, and my shoulder.

HOWEVER! He lost a few primary feathers in a night fright a month ago and they have since grown back into mostly grey feathers with yellow streaking in them seen here...

Is it possible that he's split to pied even though he doesn't look pied?

I am so confused, his behaviour says male, his feathers coming back in pearled say female.

It's almost impossible to tell if a pearl is pied until he loses his pearls. From behavior I would say you have a boy. If he is split pied, it may take him longer to lose his pearls as well.

5 months is usually too early anyway. It can take up to a year. Some feathers will grow back with pearling, the change is not immediate.
