Hi I am new as you might have guessed. I got my first bird today. Named him/her Tiki. I think Tiki is a he because of his vibrancy in his coloring but never kniw for sure. I got him as an early birthday present. Here is a pic of him after I got him home.

I am really excited to take care of him. And excited for him to put his crest down and like me lol. Anybody think they know if Tiki is actually a he?

if u pet his back he will get confused and think u r his mate, only the head and neck should me petted or h might get behavioral issues

He is!!! No offence to other people's birds but I have seen some homely cockatiels. I think most of it it thinly spread feathers but idk. Im just glad mines adorable lol 😂

I'm sure you have seen my Rainbow bridge post... Poor Tiki has passed away. But I figured I would add on to this post because I got a new tiels. I named her/him Toodles. It is a pied lutino.

We have a heater in the room that makes it really hot. It isn't directed at the bird but I do have it on. I don't really know what else to do for the bird. Also I only just noticed Toodles was fluffed up in that photo, she/he wasn't for most of the day that I could see. She/he just slept most of the day with feathers looking flat, it was an exhausting day for a 2 and 1/2 month old. But yea Tiki was fluffed up a lot.
