Hello! I own two budgies and a cockatiel. All of them very active and healthy.

Now, I have noticed that in some days, they sleep through the majority of the day with minimal activity. They're asleep right now as I'm typing this. They also don't appear to eat or drink much when this happens. They usually return to their normal selves on the next day, loud and happily chirping as if nothing happened.

Has anyone else experienced this with their birds before or is it just me? And is this normal behavior for all birds? I've tried doing research but Google is giving me little to no results.

Do you know how much sleep they're getting every night? They might just be making up for it during the day. However, if you see any sick symptoms at all, go to a doctor immediately.

How much uninterrupted sleep are they receiving at night? Do you cover the cage and hide the surrounding light? Cockatiels really need about 10 hours of uninterrupted sleep at night. Mine like to take little naps.
