Hi. Until a few weeks ago I had 3 male tiels. One, a colour mutation, that I've had for 20 years and 2 grey, 1 was rehomed due to ill health whilst the other is an unclaimed found bird. A few weeks ago my uncle passed away and I was asked to take his bird, a 4 year old male, or so I was told. Anyway, after quarantine I've found that 1 of my boys thinks the new bird is female. Whilst I know how to care for them i'm not knowledgeable about mutations, so am left feeling unsure on gender. Sonny is a Pearl with a bright face, who whistles like my boys, but the pearls are still there, like a female. Is anyone able to throw any light on this bird?

Id say it is a male because of the tail and the rump shape, but dont quote me on that.
Also the whistling and cheek marks point towards a male specimen
Could it be that your other boy has an alternative taste? I mean, my male parrotlet got very infatuated with his clicker :)
