Move Tikis cage for the winter, into my computer room... No, we don't have winter yet, but the days are getting shorter and today I noticed some of the trees are starting to turn... How depressing!!!

Anyway, the computer room is the warmest room in the house and away from drafts when I open the front door coming or going.

I wonder if I should wait until I get Torch, let them have sometime together before I move them???? I am not going to quarentine as they are from the same place. I just hope Tiki hasn't gotten territorial with his cage. I do think he will be very excited to have a friend as when I play the little cockatiel videos from UTube he gets so excited listening to them.

I really hate moving them as it is so nice to have Tiki in the kitchen where I can open the door and just let him come and go on his playstation as he pleases when I am home. Tho I do spend a lot of time on the computer and take him with me most of the time.

But I will just move the computer room playstation into the living room and they can be in there almost as much I guess.

I will be getting Torch in a wk or two... He is so pretty. Am getting so anxious.

Will be one of these 2 As you can see they get plenty of socializing. :)

Their breeder also asked if I would post her website.. so with her permission

Even if you're not quarantining i would start with them in two different cages. I know i wouldn't be too keen on sharing my bedroom with a complete stranger. ;) You could start their socialising in whatever room you like, so i would say move Tiki into the other room whenever it suits you.

Thanks Bea... and that would probably be the best idea. But I don't have the funds to invest in another cage right now. Tikis cage is big enough to give them ample room to stay away from each other if they need to... I have a plan, whether it works or not is yet to be seen. My carrier is like a mini cage, so I tho't I would put a little water and some millet in the carrier, bring Torch home, keep him in the carrier for a little while, take Tiki to his playstation in the computer room and introduce them on neutral ground.

Its what I would do if I were to bring another dog home. So we will see how it goes. I may be in for a big surprise. :) I know that birds are a lot different than dogs.

Thanks for the suggestion... :)

If you wait to make the move 'till you get Torch it will take some of the territorial aspect out of it. It will be a bit more like a nuetral area. I would wait to move the cage if I were you. Maybe even change the cage around a bit and add some new toys.

Thanks SweetSue...Kind of figured I would wait, its not cold yet, really don't need to move it until Oct sometime... I like having it where it is, but I know it will get drafty when I open and close the front door. Tiki is so laid back now I'm really not to worried about it putting Torch in with him...Will take some time introducing them when I bring him home... should be able to get Torch in a wk or two....
