So my Lutino cockatiel has been doing weird behavior for the last few weeks and I’m not sure what’s going on

I’ve been wondering it’s gender for a long time but some people say that he’s a male because he’s pretty vocal. Idk if these behaviors relate to the problems but I’m putting it here just in case.

So a few weeks ago, I caught my cockatiel ripping large amounts of paper from the paper I place inside the cage -I didn’t think much of it at first because they usually rip the paper, but it was WAY WAY more than they usually ripped, so it was weird. I didn’t know if it was nesting behavior or something but I removed the paper just in case

Then recently they’ve been a little quiet. Then I caught them just a little while ago hanging inside the food bowl that was full of seeds (still converting), just hanging around in there. Then they went away to sleep on the perch.
But then after awhile, I caught them hanging around at the bottom of the cage. Then when I took them to check, I looked at the bum and it was bald (there were a few pin feathers though) so I’m kinda scared. Right now they’re still at the bottom of the cage sleeping and I’m getting a little worried. From what I searched, it’s either she’s a girl and is laying eggs, or is sick and could die (which worries me because it’s way too late in the evening and my parents can’t take them tomorrow until late afternoon :() Please tell me what to do :((

Im pretty sure that they might be sick because if they did want to lay eggs they would have different behaviors (ex eattung more cuttlebone/consuming more calsium, ewting more etc). Id suggest you take them to the vet as soin as you possibly can

Anytime a bird is at bottom of cage and not on a perch could be a medical problem. Take to avian vet if you have one. They are great at hiding illness.

The paper shredding sounds like nest building and laying inside the bowl with the seeds may be their attempt to look for a place to lay their eggs. Watch their behavior staying at bottom is never a good thing but….that is common behavior when they are attempting to lay an egg. Maybe take to an avian vet. In the meantime, place a bowl to side of cage and maybe put a few cotton balls in it. All the best.
