I’ve been rinsing off pirates things with warm water, but I think it’s tjme to disinfect the cage. How should I do that? I’ve heard of vinegar with water but would it be safe to use it on wooden and edible perches?

Yes you can use a bit of vinegar in warm water but not hot water, as when vinegar reaches a high temperature it releases toxic fumes. You can also use a tiny amount of bleach in water but you need to do this outside with your 'tiel removed from the cage and rinse it very well after using the bleach, and leave the cage outside to fully dry for a few hours before putting your 'tiel back into it.
