My cockateil has been doing a lot of scratching and even plucking feathers. He is even losing his down. He is eating good and seems to be happy. Please help

Have you taken him to a vet? My irn did something similar and my vet said he was plucking on top of an extended molt due to stress from a rehome and diet change. I’d urge you to seek vet attention.

I also had a male lovebird pluck due to his seed mix. I shortly after moved to pellets that weren’t treated with dyes.

Have you put your cockateil in the shower? Greyson just sits like he is pouting. He does not like getting wet.

And is this a normal time for molting?

Yes, some birds molt at this time. Use a mister if he doesn’t like showers. Ie a simple spray bottle.
