Hello, I just got a new cockatiel, Charlie, a week ago. He's about 4 months old and really tiny. He's slowly getting used to me but I'm still having some problems with him...
I don't think he's sleeping at night. I'm sleeping in the same room as him (because of lack of space) and when I wake up in the middle of the night and look up at his cage, he's still awake. I have tried turning the lights on, turning them completely off and even installed a night-light. He doesn't like it when I cover his cage ... he freaks out, hisses and so on.
I have not ONCE seen him standing on one leg with his head tucked under his wing. And sometimes it looks like he's about to fall asleep, when I play calming music for him in the middle of the day ... but he's still not sleeping - he just opens his eyes again, when he realises he's about to fall asleep.

Help me. I am really concerned. Could it be that he is still asleep just not with his head under his wing? Or ... ?
Thank you!
