My name is Kalli, and I live in Northern Arizona.
I don't have any cockatiels right now, but I am searching!
I would LOVE a white faced pied, like my avatar. I would like a male.
I have been searching.. and so far, haven't found one.
Meanwhile, I have decided to join this forum, so that I chat with other cockatiel lovers!
I am also looking for the best cage, supplies, food and such..so if you have suggestions, please let me know!
I have raised cockatiels in the past, but it's been a long time!

Welcome, you will be amazed at how much you can learn from these great people. I call them my support group. Everyone is friendly and helpful. I have 2 tiels a female normal grey and a male Lutino. He's a sweetie. I am from Illinois but I have lived in Page for a month when they were building the dam. Flaggstaff is so beautiful. And comfortable temps. Look forward to seeing you often.

Here's a great cage!

I have a suggestion for a cage. You can find it on www.bird.com under super value cages. It is powder coated, 5 feet high, 2 feet deep, and 3 feet wide. All the bars are horizontal. 'Tiels love that. The seed cups are too big but you can buy very small stainless cat bowls at Wal-Mart for 99 cents. They fit perfectly on top of the cups provided. It is $149. and shipping is FREE!!!

Sweetrsue, I went to that website, and saw the cage! It's fabulous! I am going to order it, and some toys too.
I still am looking for the bird, but I figure I will buy the cage now, just in case!

It's always best to have the cage and toys set up in preparation, some seed in the house is a good idea too. That way if you happen to stumble across that perfect tiel there'll be nothing stopping you getting it.
