Hi, Iam new here, discovered the board recently. I have 2 male Cockateils. One male is super sweet and loves interaction.the sweet one is 2 years old and the other male who is kind of a weirdo is a year and a half.

They have been together for a year +. Today they started fighting.I separated them and then put them together later in the day and the fighting broke out again. ***They are separated for the night. One is in a large travel cage.

When I separate them they start screaming, .they are really bonded but I can't risk injury now that they are biting each other.

Not sure why they are mad but they really go at it.

My question is should I get a second cage?

Welcome to the forum Kerri, I'd hold off on that second cage for now. When you have two male tiels, there are bound to be disagreements from time to time. Are you sure it's really full blown fighting or just nipping at each other? I have two males in one cage and see them nipping fairly often and the next minute, there playing with each other! A few other things you might consider are those nasty hormon feelings and molting which can make any bird cranky. IF, the fighting does get worse and you see they can't get along then perhaps the second cage is an option but since you say there bonded, I would hold off for now.
