Hello everyone !

I need some help regarding my little :pied: friend. His name is Michael and he is 14 years old. He has this weird thing : whenever he sees a blanket/ rag/ carpet moving he starts to scream a lot . He is literally getting into berserk mode and becomes very protective with that object. He can spend the whole day folding and unfolding the carpet and if you try to get near him he becomes very aggressive. He is all the time out of his cage and he lets me (his owner) and sometimes other people pet him but god forbids he sees the carpet moving. When he was young (2-3 yrs) he had two females:grey tiel::grey tiel: but he raped them and killed them. One of the :pied: laid an egg but he was protecting the egg even from her.
I could use some advice regarding how can i reduce Michael's screaming habit and maybe the aggressivity also...

Hi! I was recently having a similar issue with my boy who's 11 months. Any time he saw one of 3 blue tea towels I have he would become aggressive, attacking my face, screeching and spending all his time sitting with the tea towel. I've removed the tea towels from being in rotation for now which has helped. I've also extended his hours in darkness. He was sleeping in a covered cage in a dark room from around 8.30pm to 7.30am. Now I put him to bed when the sun goes down (5.30pm here in Sydney at the moment) and get him up at around 6.30-7.00am. This has made a world of difference! He seems happier, more relaxed, a lot less aggressive. His entire attitude has changed from being easily worked up and quick to be aggressive to being cuddley and calm.
I recently learnt that extending their hours in darkness tones down their breeding hormones as it resembles winter conditions and they generally don't like to breed in summer. For us it's worked wonders. You could try that πŸ™‚
Good luck with him!
