Hello :D
I have a new friend, his name is Tweetman. He's a rescue Cockatiel.
He looked drab when I got him March 12. Now his yellow is bright as are his round orange spots--the rest of his feathers look better too.
I don't know how old he is--somewhere between 10 and 15. He's very sweet. I could use some bird lovers for friends. Tweetman had no topnotch when I got him. Slowly his feathers are growing in--
he doesn't seem to like fruit--I did get him some grit-as when he arrived all he would eat out of the cockatiel food was millet!!! I got him a bigger cage and he has never been tamed to touch.
Apparently he was in a cage with another bird-some say cockatiel, most say parakeet that went hose beast on him--and pulled the feathers out of the back of his neck and off the top of his head.
I grew up with Parakeets--and I have cats--so I am careful with Tweetman. I would love to make friends with you all and learn more cool things to make Tweetman's life better.;)
Thanks!

Thanks Sophia. Is there a way to chat in this program? To know if someone else is online?
Obviously I am new to all of this--and I haven't taken Tweetman out of his cage-not sure how to take a pic in there. I never saw anything anywhere that allowed me to list how many tiels I have? Where is that?

there is a little dot beside peoples names, i think blue is online, red or grey is offline,

tiels (and all hookbills)do not need grit - it causes more harm then good they hull thier seeds so they don't need help digisting it like Say pigeons or chickens who eat the seed whole

If you go to Edit your profile and scroll down there is a section asking how many cockatiels you have.

Hi there welcome to the forum don't worry to much about him not liking fruit, a lot of cockatiels are not big on fruit none of mine touch fruit but they love there veggies, birdie bread pasta etc.... I agree with not giving them grit, its not needed and can actually do more harm to them then good
