Greetings! I have an 8 year old male cockatiel that absolutely adores me. I know it's a wonderful thing. However, the issue is that I feel very guilty leaving him to go on vacation.

When I leave him at my parent's house, he constantly yells and screams for me all day long. They do their best to care for him and feed him, but they don't really know how to handle him.

I haven't tried leaving him at a boarding facility because I worry about him catching something.

I'm not sure what to do. I just feel guilty leaving him when traveling. I just care for him too much and don't want him to suffer in any way.

Any thoughts, please?

Why don't you TRY taking him with you? Would it really be that bad to have him along? That way BOTH of you could be happy.

Sometimes in vacation spots pets aren’t allowed. If Dante1010 really loves Dante then I’m pretty sure Dante1010 tried their best to bring Dante with them
