Maybe your cockatiel is not weaned, breeders say anything to sell birds.(When I got my cockatiel the breeder said she was 1 month old but she was only 2 weeks old)So you can handfeed or give her pellets and seeds in your hand until he is weaned.Yes,you should weigh her every day morning.

I've had 7 tiels over 20 years. 3 lost out the door 😢 . I know when they are ready to leave parents/breeders. Their screech turns into an actual, normal call. If they still screech, they are too young to leave parent/breeder. When I choose a bird, I leave for at least 2-3 weeks after choice to when I bring them home. Like away for next few weeks so look after until I return, even if not away, or need to buy new cage, even if I don't. Makes sure they are absolutely ready to leave and totally weaned, otherwise tragic. Just my thing to be safe with new tame baby who will love you for this and have the best life.
