My family is getting the carpets cleaned next month. Every year they do every room in the house so there wont be any safe place to put Kiwi in and it's 30 degrees outside because it's Fall. I'm thinking of leaving my windows open and taking Kiwi for a drive in her carrying cage while the fumes air out.

My concern is that I know the cleaner they use has a strong lemony scent to it. The cleaner doesn't dry for at least three hours. When would it be safe to move her back into her cage or let her play on the floor? Should I try and remove some of the cleaner with water? :(

I'll try and ask my friend if Kiwi can stay with her for a little while. She also has a few cockatiels. I don't trust the smell either. :(
