My 'tiels refuse to eat fruit and vegetables if I either sit it in the cage or try and give them it myself.. so I was wondering if there's another way? I don't force them to eat it, and I left fruit and vegetables in there for a 2 days and they hadn't touched it, and as soon as I went to give them some they went bonkers. <_<

I have tried giving them; Apple, Broccoli, Grapes, Lettuce, Spinach, Sweetcorn, Pasta, Rice and Spinach. (Hope they are okay to give them - my friend said it should be)

I would not leave it in for two days, it will go bad. Just leave it in for a couple of hours. Try the veggies in different ways as well, like choped or mashed up. I sit on the love seat and read, I put Spikes veggies on a plate and when Iam not looking he will try some. Or I cut some up and eat it in front of him and he will usually want some. He likes to try new things when Iam eating them at the kitchen table :p Just keep on trying :)

As Spike mentioned, leaving them for two days will cause them to spoil and become a bacteria breeding ground. The way I introduce new foods to mine is to eat them myself (on plate) and pretend they can't have any at first. They tend to want things they "can't" have. The trick works everytime but it probably won't work if they are not completly bonded with you, enough to consider you their flock and expect you to share your food with them.
Mine get a daily plate of different things. Steamed sweet peas, corn niblets, green beans, fresh parsley, cooked lentils, beans, rice, fresh green pepper...whatever I have around. They also get a fruit of the day...favorites are pomegrante seeds, blueberries, raspberries, red apple (yes,it must be red), mango (try to avoid the skin)..
Also, try to stay away from grapes as they can cause renal failure if fed in large amounts or too often.

Keep offering it daily and they'll eventually get curious. Some people also sprinkle some millet seeds to get them to associate the veggies with food at first. Whatever you do, don't give up. It's VERY important that they get a varied diet.

Some tiels just take longer to accept it I would keep offering it everyday and eventually they will be curious enough to try it, favourites at my house are corn, green beans and parsley, try offering it in various ways cooked fresh etc.... my guys are not big fruit eaters but they love there vegetables, as the others said don't leave them in there for more then a few hours, I wouldn't want to touch anything thats been left out for two days.

the way i've got all my birds (tiels and budgies anyway) to try new things Is i sprinkle thier favorite snack on them, rather its nutra berries, avi cakes or thier pellets and i make sure what ever i sprinkle on it gets down inside the veggie that way with every bite of thier fav. treat they're getting a bite of veggies

Once they start eating it I gradually reduce the sprinkled treat until one day they're just eating the veggies w/nothing on it ,, took me with most of them about a week to a week and a half

also we make them birdie bread and we put mixed veggies in it and they devour it, getting thier veggies - i'm not sure if they realize that or not though LOL

for my love bird - i just pretend i am eating it, tell her how yummy it is and how good it is, and then she dives right in
