Hi, I’ve had a female cockatiel for about a couple of years now. About a year ago she has started doing this thing where she starts tapping her beak several times followed by spitting out seeds in a repetitive way. Until we either pay attention to her, put her back in her cage (she doesn’t do it in there), or we start telling her to stop. I’ve been looking around this website and others but don’t find someone who has had the same experience.
otherwise, she is doing well. She’s done this many times.
Is she just wanting attention?
Thank you, Sunny Banoonies’ mom

That is normal behavior for sexually mature birds. It is, if doing to you...or care giver. it "cares",... wants to feed you,.....I don't scold for that it is natural behavior .... she wants to be part of YOUR/ flock.... loves her family. IMO. but I have seen this many times.......the bigger the bird the bigger the feed.......lol
