Hello,
My cockatiels laid 3 eggs about 15 - 18 days ago and the eggs about to hatch. It's not their first hatchlings so they probably know how to take care of babies but I don't.
I've heard giving mineral rich foods to parents will help babies to survive but I don't know what kind of food should I give or in what form. Parents usually eat ordinary parrot foods but as treat I give them sunflower seeds, millet and fruit and sometimes egg. But babies can't eat like adult birds do, so what's the best way to feed the parents ? Boiled eggs, mashed or minced vegetables and fruits ? Should I mix them ? What fruits, vegetables and other foods are the best ? Also there are baby bird foods can be found, are they good for parents and babies ?
