Our birds are breeding , which I did not want as not mature enough. But laid eggs and I put the box in. Took it out and then more eggs so put it back. I feel all these eggs are draining the female.( we did think we had 2 males)
Anyway, my question is.. Do they toss out the old infertile eggs or just keep sitting? We did candle and got 2 out of 3 correct but one I think was fertile so we stopped guessing and she is sitting on 7 eggs. We are new and trying to do the right thing but... Making errors. Any help welcomed, please do not scold us as we do love our birds. Thank you

If the birds young just leave the eggs as is. Chances are pretty good they aren't going to mate correctly the first time or there will be sitting related issues (which is normal for new parents). Cockatiels are prolific breeders, but they aren't usually very good parents the first time around. Wait a few months and after the parents lose interest throw the eggs away.
