In the past couple days, Maya's started dropping feathers like crazy! I think she might be molting, but I've read that the first molt is supposed to happen between the ages of 6-12 months old, and Maya's only about 3 and 1/2 months old. I don't think she's picking her feathers, since no blood's been shed, and she still seems happy and energetic. She gets a lot of attention, and always has toys, fresh food and water, and a clean cage...
Can cockatiels have their first molt early? Or does this mean something's wrong?

Its normal, 6-12 months is just an average, but several tiels on the forum have molted as early as 3 months old.
