Please note I'm not a new member, and ... I'm not joking. I had 2 cockatiels, and then they had 3 more cockatiels. So now I have 5 flying around the house. And the original two have mated a couple of times in the last years or so, and there were eggs one time but none hatched, I think they were fertilized. Also two of the 3 youngsters mated about a year ago, there were eggs, but they were not fertilized and they didn't hatch. Anyhow, the original two are now sitting on some new eggs, and the odd couple act as follows: the female starts the squeaking noises associated with mating, and the make pokes around at her bottom, i.e. beak to bottom from the rear, but does not mount her. I've watched them do this at least 5 times. Is this normal ?????
