l wasn't sure if l was able to post this here, so if l'm not, moderators please feel free to delete it or move it to the right section.:)

once in a while l like to check my local classified for stuff and l happen to come across this add today, http://winnipeg.kijiji.ca/c-pets-bi...S-8-week-old-baby-cockatiel-W0QQAdIdZ43192668
the cockatiel is free and it is a disabled young 8 week old cockatiel with splayed legs, he is needs to be handfed for awhile still, he is located in Winnipeg.
l would love to take him but l'm unable to take him in due to some health issues that l have at the moment :(
l personally think he is too young still to be given away if he is not weaned yet. so hopefully someone with experience in handfeeding and weaning a bird will take him.

I just read it thats sad, they should have taken the poor thing to a vet for treatment splayed legs might have been able to be fixed if it was treated early, not sure how he can live his life on his belly

That's such a sad case. :( I hope someone who can love him and care for him properly can take him in. I wish more people would realise that splay legs is possible to correct if you catch it young.

yes, it is a shame that people don't take them to an avian vet earlier, so the vet can show them how to fix splayed legs when the tiels are very young:(
l checked the ad today and it has been removed, l hope this tiel has found a loving home.
