That is no doubt a pearl cockatiel. How old is this bird? If it's a male, he will eventually lose those pretty pearl markings after a few molts and start to look more like a normal grey. Now IF this is an older bird, you have a female. Does he or she whistle or talk yet? In most cases, it's also the males that whistle and sing!

not sure how old it is. the guy in the petshop just told me it was a yearling when i asked how old it was. he also told me it and the other 2 he had were all males. someone told me he/she looks at least 6 months old

If it's a year old most likely it's a hen. Males will usually already start molting pearls at a year old. With a sex-linked mutation and no family history, better than average chance 2/3 or 66% chance it's a hen even if the age is off.
