First of all, he's really cute!
He does look skinnier in the other photo compared to the first.
However, 82 grams isn't too low for a tiel, as they tend to be 80-120grams,
but if your tiel is losing weight, (or), show any sign of sickness you should get him checked out by an avian vet.

Is he eating normally?
Does he show sign of sickness?
Monitor your bird carefully just in case : )

Hope this helps!
All the best,
Waffle :coffee:

I have a similar looking male that is 1 yr old. He dropped to the mid 60s in weight, and I weigh him daily since he has been sick for 4 months now. He is on meds. His weight is 82 grams as I keep and eye on his weight. I do have a question---Has your bird lost any of its pep, perkyness, or energy? Mine has, but he is still fighting his illness.

Has he changed his eating habits? Looks like he’s moulting? If so he might be burning more energy to grow feathers. Can try to monitor his weight daily and provide more food. Otherwise you really need to bring him to the vet for a checkup, also for your peace of mind.
