Apologies, this is less about getting cockatiels to breed and more about how to help a mismatched pair.
Essentially, I have two very bonded birds, John and Abigail.
Abigail is absolutely obsessed with John and whenever it's "that time" she's chattering and crouching and backing up into him for hours and hours every day.
John hates this. He's just not into her, poor girl. He screams all day and sounds so stressed out.
Problem is, when I try to separate them in order to give them some de-stressing time, Abigail has a meltdown (she has meltdowns when they're separated even when she's not looking to mate).
It's tough because either options causes at least one stressed out bird.
I'm hoping for some advice?
Thanks in advance!
