Hi newbie here.
So my boyfriend has cockatiel who is about 5 years of age. She has an open cage to our bedroom. She sleeps in her cage at night but lately she’s been waking us up in the morning. She puts herself in what looks like a “stuck” position. But when you get her out of that position she’s fine and then goes right back to it. There’s a low wooden perch in the cage that she puts herself behind. Her chirps sounds like she’s in pain but I don’t t think she is. She eventually stops if you ignore her. Is she doing this for attention? Is she getting for laying eggs? Any information will be helpful! Thanks!

It really could be a number of things. Do you cover her cage at night with a sheet? I'm guessing she's either doing it for attention or it's hormonal. I know it natural to go check on her but if she seems ok everytime and you keep running over to her cage, I can almost guarantee she's going to keep doing it.
