My pet cockatiel has been chirping a lot today (about every 10 seconds which is more then usual) and I've been trying to figure out what he wants. I just put my ear to his chest to check on his heartbeat and found that every time he chirps there is a low vibration sound. I have never heard this happen to him before and I'm quite concerned as he usually isn't so inconsolable.

I don't know what could be going on and if I should take him to the vet for it. The vet has said he might have a heart defect so we give him Metcam everyday. I missed his dose of it two days ago but I have given them to him the past few days.

Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated.

If you're sure it's new, I would get a vet check to be safe.
This is the first time I have heard it, but I don't really check his chest all too often. He has calmed since so I'm going to continue to keep an eye on him.

Is this something that usually happens when they chirp?
