Hi everyone. ...i bought a teil few days ago and he is like around *4 weeks old*....i was planing to make a toy for him using popsicle sticks and thread....so i was wondering weather *normal stiching thread* would do good for a toy... (he is not moved to a cage yet; just in case u found it usefull)...thank u.

Your new cockatiel is very young, are you hand feeding him?

Yes they love to chew on popsicle sticks, as well as wicker balls, soft wood like balsa wood and loofah toys. Bells are good entertainment for them too. If you have a lemon tree or a rosemary bush, these branches and leaves are safe for them too, my flock love chewing them and spend hours destroying them!

My 2 year old male Beaker:cinnamon: loves to chew on empty toilet paper cardboard tubes. He will bite off a piece and just chew chew chew, then do it again. He'll do it for hours sometimes.

He doesn't have much interest in any of his other toys, except for a twistie tie I curved into a ring for him.

Yes i am hand feeding him and recently thought of training him for self eating habit......because hestarted flapping his wings and ive read that its the perfect time to train self feeding...
