I have a young pair breeding for the first time. Pair has four eggs. I have noticed that most of time, whether day or night, male is sitting in the nest. Sometimes both sit or hen sits for a very little time. Is it normal for a cock to incubate for most time?

I've had some pairs where either parent is the main incubator, and others where they both sit tight. Either is normal and fine as long as SOMEONE is doing it.

It's most common for the male to sit in the daytime and the hen to sit at night. But many other arrangements are possible. The only thing that really matters is that the eggs are kept warm, and the parents are getting along with each other reasonably well.
