Hello birdies. I got two baby cockatiels around 4 weeks old. I don't know the gender still. I read that two birds bonds with each other more and will not need your company and will not bond with you and will not get great tamed. Is it true? What if we hand-feed both and raise both from chicks? Does that make the situation different? I want to have a great bonded and tamed birds. People suggest keep them in diff cages so they need you and bond with you. Some says that if you will hand raise them, they will Get tamed and there is not need to put them in diff cages. Anyone here who got 2 cockatiels and they both are tamed or not tamed? I wanna hear your exp and need suggestions. Anyone that had 2 of them from the begining (babies stage) and raised them together ? Are they fully bonded and tamed with you? Tell me your exp and suggest me should I putem in 2 diff cages or they will bond amazing and will get tamed while in the same cage.

It is true that if you hand feed them they will get more tamed. I don’t think it’s necessary for you to separate them. I got two babies as a gift and they were not tame at all. (They were older than yours, probably like 3 months old) I tamed them, but they were still always together. And no matter how tame they are, they will always prefer each other. I have also raised babies and one of them is tamed than the other one likes to be with me while the other watches from a distance, but he still lets me hold him and pet him. It depends on the birds.

So I am keeping them together in one cage.

Yes, it is best. It can also affect their behavior. They can actually become depressed or even aggressive if they’re separated, but at that age, they won’t. But please don’t separate them!
I won't. Also, are one month old cockatiels good to put in cage without newspaper above? I mean there are bars beneath too and their legs sometimes get into it in the tray beneath the bars. The bars are although not that high but their legs goes under. Specially the small one's legs get into it more. So should I put newspaper above the bars or just normally bars is Good and they will get uses to it?

My bird cage didn’t come with bars on the bottom and my birds spend a decent amount on the floor biting the paper that there is. It is probably uncomfortable for them. Is it possible for you to remove the bars?

I am so sorry to hear that 😔 How is the other one? Has he realized that his sibling is gone?
Yes ofcourse. He is just 1.5 months but he noticed that the other one is not there. He was so upset not making a single cry sound. He didn't want to go in the and cane running on the gate to me so I pick him on my fingers. I keep putting him in and he kept coming out. He wanted to be with me so the whole day, he was out with me me while I was studying. Now he seems quite calm and good. He is sleeping with his head turned back in the wings in his cage right now.
