Hello to everyone, I have a question. why does my cockatiels who I leave them all the time out of the cage, they don't want to sleep inside the cage, they only eat, drink, play, but when its time to sleep they choose very weird places to sleep. Usually when I go to sleep I pick them up and put them inside the cage.
Ps: I have them for 1 year now. I might add that in the first few weeks they fell 2 times from their perches but I suppose bcz they didn`t had any muscles in their legs and wings because I bought them from pet shop. https://imgur.com/a/l9wLFDh

Cockatiels prefer to sleep in a high place. This makes them feel safe, like sleeping in a tree in the wild. My birds would rather sleep on top of the cage than in it, but I make them go inside because it's safer for them there. Night frights are bad enough inside the cage, but flying around a dark room in a panic is even more dangerous.
