Miso just lost a tailfeather, fairly recently, and it looked like this.

it was a full feather, unbroken, and she doesn't seem to be bleeding anywhere that i could see. i spread her tail, looked around her feathers, tried to gently get in among them best i could and i can't see any blood. i'm fairly certain i know the spot it came from and she squeaks whenever i touch it, so i'm leaving it alone...

should i be worried?

Every now and then Milo will lose a feather like that. I think its pretty normal. As long as it isn't bleeding Miso should be fine.

I can't see the pic but with blood feathers, if the entire feather comes out, there usually isn't a problem as there is nothing (part of a feather) holding the follicle open to let the blood out. So your 'tiel will be fine. :)

I can't see the pic either, but sometimes when a fully grown feather gets knocked or pulled out, it may have a bit of blood in the tip of the quill and the spot may be sore because there's minor trauma to the skin.
