Hey everyone i have a quick question. Ive introduced romaine lettuce to my tiel recently and ive noticed more often than not she poops out really dark brown but more black looking poops. I put them in water and break them up and it comes out looking like brown poop. Its always perfectly shaped just the color is different. Any idea anybody?

Their poop changes colour pretty dramatically depending on what type of food they've eaten. Dark brown is normal, if it is truly black this indicates internal bleeding and would require a vet visit asap.

Lettuce is not very nutritious as it is mostly water and will make your 'tiels poop quite runny so I would limit feeding this. Try offering her veggies like broccoli, silverbeet, kale, shredded carrot and herbs. What is the rest of her diet like?

She eats her seeds(tried pellets/still try she's not having it lol), kale, apples, she's coming around to carrots, she eats white and brown rice, pasta. She has a mixed diet in which ive tried to introduce new things and she's done pretty well with them.

Ive looked up tricks when it comes to the poop like smearing it onto a paper and its always brown with some hints of green. Plus with the water I put the poop in and proceed to break it up and i see the brown mixed with some green, never is it black just when it comes out it looks black. The color always goes back to normal by the way.

She's fine otherwise she acts normal, flies normal, wants food like normal lol, i just found it a little odd that it turned to that dramatic of a color.

Sounds like you are taking great care of her and she sounds healthy :) it never hurts to be too cautious though, I'm guilty of that haha.
