Hello Everyone,

My mum & dad just mentioned a Bird gym! They was thinking of buying one for Earl & Little Bill! But they was debating weather they would play on it or not!

Has anyone got one, and do your birds use it ?

Ive not got one but i think there a good idea im planning on getting one myself.There good for a bit of exercise and to explore if your birds are anything like mine they will love something new to chew on you could use it and give them a treat or something if they climb up the ladder or go down it or in it or along it you no what i mean lol

Dooby has a play gym, but to be honest you could just as well make one out of branches and hang toys from it.

I have one for Spike and he does play on it sometimes. I think they are a good idea, it gives them something to do and helps keep the floor clean

I don't have one but i just use what ever bird safe bits and bobs i can find and put them together for the birds to play on. but i think the nicest looking play gyms are the home made ones with real woods but i'm sure Little Bill and earl will love one to play on.

we made ours, and my budgies and tiels are on it all day long

we have a small swing hanging off of a part of it (came with a cage and we had an empty spot on the gym) and Goldie (one of cinnoman pearl tiels) loves to sit there and take it off and drop it, and wait for us to put it back on, turn our backs and bang shes already taken it back off
but my b/f fixed her she cant remove it any more but she can still play with it and she'll play with it for hours just lifting it up and leting it go

they have beads hanging off in different places and love playing with those too and 2 ladders and a big swing for them to sit on and a happy hut at the end of it but they'd rather sit on that and poop all over it then actually get in it LOL

we made ours for all of about $20.00

I have one and my birds use it a lot. It's a good "home base" for them when they're out of the cage, and you can put food and water on them for when they're out playing.

wow ATV that looks great! I haven't ever bought my birds a playgym because i doubt whether the budgies would use it. Garry probably would though! I find that with so many of the things I have bought for them they never use!! Its so frustrating at times!

That looks great atvchick, lots of things to play with. If I don't see a good one in the shops I might make one!

you'll never find one of this quailty for 20 bucks at a store

I can't carry it by my self it's too heavy

we've only had to replace the swing that is in the picture with one made of bigger(thicker) dowels because the tiels finally chewed it into many pieces

but other than that they haven't ruined anything else lol

They must like it alot, to have chewed one of the swings to pieces! :lol:
