I've heard that expression. It seems to me these Cockatiels are very intelligent. My Snitch is not only smart, but sneaky too. :) She teases me when I go to give her scritches. Holds her head down for me, but when I go to scritch her, she tries to bite. The sneak, lures me to being closer for a bigger bite. Yet when she wants scritches for real, she swings her swing sideways, puts her head down, and scritches her own neck. Clever?!!

My TV is behind me when I'm on the computer, so I have a make-up mirror I watch from. Snitch can see the other side, that is magnified and looks at herself a lot. Yesterday I hung a toy in her cage, and I couldn't figure out why she acted like she was angry with the toy. I finally figured out that it was in her way to see herself. How vain these creatures are. !!

I have been thinking the same thing, Just how smart these little guys are.... Funny about Snitch wanting to see the mirror.... :) Tiki doesn't like sritches, so I quit trying to give them to him... I am sure he will let me when he is ready....

Hey, I am sitting at my computer with a bird on my shoulder!!!!! Finally Tiki is sitting on my shoulder.... and seems very comfortable....

They sure are intelligent little things :D its funny how much Snitch likes to look at herself :p

Tiki might just be one of those birds that doesn't like scritches, my Lee is the same way and I have had him since last year, he is totally hand tame loves to sit on my shoulder will step up anytime I ask but does not liked to be touched anywhere on the head or body.

So if tiels are so smart, what species is Bailee supposed to be??? :p ;)

LOL!! I agree that they're good little problem solvers, and they sure know how to twist their owners around their little toe.
