Hi,

I was looking on youtube, and found this video. It is called bird dance but I was looking at the front of the bird, on the comments the owner said it had plucked it's belly bare!

Here is the link :

It looks pretty bad! But the bird looks farely happy!

Thanks Sophia x

P.S You can't see the plucking very well at the beginning, but you can later on in the video! :D

plucking is not always because a bird is unhappy, it can be a medical problem, it can also be inherited,it's also caused by bieng bored, a bored bird can still be a happy bird and stress causes it also, with the bigger parrots, quakers and so on if you change one thing on them it can cause them major stress to them which is another reason for feather plucking, and like a bored bird, stress doesn't mean the bird is un happy

I have to slightly disagree with part of this. Being stressed and/or bored does mean they're not happy. I know I'm not happy when I'm stressed or bored.

I also disagree.

Feather-Plucking isn't inherited. It can be a medical problem, or that the bird is a rescue, or sometimes the bird plucked itself previously and can't stop, like smoking. BUT bored or stressed DOES mean it is unhappy. I don't know anyone or anything that is happy when it's bored or stressed. Also, quakers aren't "big" parrots, they are medium sized.
